About Us

We are a group of artists, designers, writers, activists, thinkers, academics, leaders, and community members working on projects in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to uplift and support our local community. This service learning class is housed at Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design (MIAD) where it is taught by Dr. Helen J. Bullard. We collaborate across institutions and organizations with other classes, groups and incredible individuals with the intention of supporting our community, far beyond our classroom.
An ever-expanding list of awesome local groups and organizations providing vital services in Milwaukee. Storytelling the Environment uses this list – in addition to MIAD's community connections – to learn about, and serve, our community. We do this by speaking with community members, sharing stories, making creative work and volunteering.

Life is too valuable a gift to spend on anything less than kindness.
